Being Facebook Friends − 14 May, 2008
Ah the wonderful world of Facebook. The possibilities are endless aren't they.
I have countless "friends". Some are colleagues or ex colleagues, some are family, some are friends or people I know...
Some I have no idea who they are.
And why would I add people I don't know ?
Well. I can send them invites all I want. That way I don't bug people I know with endless application invites and whatnot. They can invite me to everything, I won't mind. I will ignore the applications I don't want (vampire, pirate, ninja, etc.) and accept any invite that I'm curious about.
Do I ignore people who are on my friends list ? Of course I do. Some of them I would have deleted if it wasn't for the fact that I know and see the person regularly and I would receive bullshit for deleting them. One person I have ignored more than others so he wouldn't think I'm interested (it's not narcissism, the guy was interested and I was not). I don't ignore emails, I just don't poke or superpoke them and send invites to kiss me for example.
Do I try to become friends with the people on my Facebook ? No. We sometimes write, we send each other things like eyesores, flowers and hugs. But I don't consider them my friends. I did however found family and I find FB a good way to keep contact. We are at the two ends of the country so phone calls are out of the question.
And FB is a reason why I am not on the enlightened path...

So, you can delete friends? Can you do it so they don't know? Probably not, huh... So about enlightenment... *I* think that *you* should try to be more enlightened, since after all, I'm an expert on your life. ;-)

Yes, you can delete friends and they won't know. Thank you for your *expert* comment. :)
