Not a buddhist, I killed ants − 24 May, 2008
We have ants. They come every year and we have different kinds of ants. Sometimes they stay well past november. Last winter, I had enough of it and bought ant killer. It seemed to work. I felt guilty, my friend the buddhist told me to let them be since they hurt no one.
I have tons of food and I don't want ants in my cupboards. I killed them.
But while I was cleaning my bathroom, I was wiping the floor around the bath (weird how this place always has more dust than anywhere else) and as I looked at my wall (well under where I usually look, you know, well under my eye level) and I saw at least ten of them running along the tile cracks.
Dammit ! I thought they were gone, the battle over. Too bad. I won't be a buddhist. I put a very big drop of ant killer and they rushed to stick themselves into it.
No ants in MY cupboards. No thank YOU.

I didn't want to kill ant on my kitchen counter, so I knocked him onto the floor. Two minutes later, I accidentally stepped on him and felt bad. But what was I expecting?!

Always where they are not supposed to...don't they know humans walk around ? They should stick to where it's safer : walls, tile cracks, between furniture, under the furniture...instead they walk right in our path ! Tsk.
