Editing Photo Collections Via Voice Recognition − 1 June, 2008
I cut 131 photos down to 31 via voice recognition today. My computer and I had a few things to learn first. I trained it (Mac OS X Leopard) on my voice and told it its name was now "Dude". Then, via a one way conversation that sounded like this:
"Dude, Next!"
"Dude, Next!"
"Dude, Delete!"
"Dude, Next!"
"Dude, Preve!"
"Dude, Next!"
"Dude, Delete!"
"Dude, Undo!"
etc.
When I finally got tired of saying "Dude", I turned that requirement off. But I learned this afternoon not to turn that feature off while talking to other people. It can have unpredictable results! Things just start happening, so LOOK OUT!
I whittled the 131 down to 31. I couldn't do any drag 'n drop, so it stayed one large documentary collection, rather than several smaller more "artistic" collections. But this is only the beginning. I will get better at this. Enjoy!

Now you have to rig it so you can edit photos like Deckard in "Blade Runner." ;-)
