The last two days of our stay in Penlan Cottage were just lazy, relaxing days. Settling in once we got to Alice Springs was not likely to be anything but busy, so we were getting our down-time in while we could.
We really didn't do much of anything -- hiked around the immediate area, watched Aussie TV, and browsed through the selection of video tapes. One title (still in its wrapper) caught our attention almost immediately. In big, bright pink letters the title screamed at us "Sex on the Reef."
Hmmm... what's this? Our first thought was that is was porn, though we were sorely disappointed when we examined the tape cover only to find that it was a documentary about the coral spawning on the Great Barrier Reef. We watched it anyway. Very interesting, but it didn't do anything for me, you know, excitement-wise.
One night I drove into Hannam Vale to pick up a pizza at the general store / pizza restaurant. On the way back to the cottage, I drove almost the entire way on the wrong side of the road, only realizing my mistake when a car came barreling straight at me with its horn blazing.
Oops. I have a feeling this will be a common occurrence for a few weeks. Or months.
Finally, we spent several long hours repacking our tiny fucking rental car. If I never have to pack this much shit in a little car again, it'll be too soon.
Going to be an early morning drive back to Sydney for the flight to Alice Springs. Somehow, I don't think we'll sleep much tonight.

Coral spanning is anything but hot! I bet they thought they would sell more dvds that way. Thank you marketing dept!
