See you on the other side . . . .  − 8 June, 2008

Four months after I was born, Apollo 8 went to the moon.

There came a critical moment: the ship had to burn the engines for lunar orbit injection.  During this burn, it would pass behind the moon, and out of contact with Earth.  No one would know if the maneuver was successful until Apollo 8 reappeared.

I find myself in a similar place.

For the next month, as far as the online community is concerned, I'm going to be on the far side of the moon.  We are packing right now for our move to Virginia.  The closing date for the sale of our house in Florida is July 7, 2008.

From now until this is settled, it looks like I'm going to be burning the engines and trying to find a stable orbit.

There's no point in signing off, since I hope I'll be back.  I'll just close with the words of Jim Lovell: We'll see you on the other side.
