Giving in to Wanderlust − 9 June, 2008
The deed is done. After much discussion with my wife over the past week, we came to the conclusion that it was a no-brainer for us: we're going for it. Today I applied for the positions in England.
The financial benefits can't be ignored, the kids are still young enough to not be adversely affected by switching schools, and wanderlust just won't be denied.
There are a lot of extenuating conditions, though -- the big one being selling our house in a really shitty market. That's going to be tough one... we can't afford to take any sort of hit on the cost. Not looking forward to the process of getting it sold. But, it's all speculation at this point; I only just applied for the jobs today.
Let the waiting begin.

How exciting! Sometimes the opportunity outways the logistics of it. Think of what an awesome memory for the kids you would be making! Here is to charlie, and tea and crumpets! Lay off the charlie though...
