Moving on − 21 June, 2008
I finally released the story I had been working on when carpal tunnel syndrome struck. It didn’t benefit from as many editing sessions as I would have liked, but by releasing it, I am removing it from temptation while my wrists heal, and besides, I already have my next story idea. Releasing “Those Who Remain” frees my mind to wander over the potential plot line of my next story. Although I would like to have made “Those Who Remain” tighter with additional editing, I feel it is time to move on.
Those Who Remain is 97% fiction. I simply based upon the characters from Reasons We Leave.
The story Home is fictional, but it is based on a family story I heard while growing up.
What inspires my next story is a simple image. However, it is an image that is powerful enough for a story to be built upon. I am a very visual person, so I expect that powerful images may be the sources of many stories to come.
