Four-Lettered Word  − 2 June, 2008

Four letters, four numbers:
teach me to rearrange
and see how high we can climb.

Lost ambition leads to early ends
and balls of light on my pillow
let me feel again.

Pen-friendship ended for telephone sex:
the face of self-hatred
makes the messages stop.

Give me your word again,
I’ll give you the time
and alter the meaning until you’re free.

The highest number isn’t always the best
and four little letters will always be mine.
