I will NEVER do this to my kids !  − 3 July, 2008

As a child, there were things I told myself I would never do. I wouldn't be like my parents...only to find out I was more like them than I wished.

However, will never :
Hit
Yell as soon as I come home from work, because the kids are asking questions or because I feel like it
Drink
Do drugs
Be unappreciative of their efforts or of who they are
Be unkind and egotistical
Treat them equally, make them wear the same clothes, celebrate their birthdays together, basically act as if I had only one child
Say : Because I told you so !

I will :
Respect who they are
Explain and answer questions
Appreciate their good marks and encourage them to do better
Appreciate their creativity
Talk to them and listen
Be there
Teach them values and right from wrong
Cook them Kraft Dinner, Lipton soup and scrambled eggs. Oh, and make them PB & honey sandwiches.
Bake them homemade cookies
Show them how to cook, read them stories, go places with them
Love them, love them, love them !!
