When we first got Neri, she was a happy, bouncy puppy. She grew up quick, but didn't quite lose that puppy instinct of leaping straight up into the air when she got excited. Result: when she was a gangly adolescent, she "sprained a hock." It only took a little while for her to recover. Now, any time Hannah and I have a pain in the leg, we always refer to it as a sprained hock, as in "Ouch, I think I sprained my hock."

I hope Lily will run soon!

Yeah, it's sad; her natural impulse is to run. The only way I can stop her is to keep her on a leash at all times (except in the house). How to explain to a dog that it's only 10 days?
