"Highway To Sell" − 1 June, 2006

Micaela likes rock music and will pretty much demand it when listening to the radio in the car. One day she and I were driving back from having dinner together and AC/DC came on. Knowing that she would like the guitar sounds and overall "rock" sound, I turned it up so that we could go crazy. The song was fine up until the chorus, when I realized that they were going to say "Highway to Hell". Well, thinking that her 7 year old ears should not hear such a thing, I thought quickly for something to replace the song lyrics.

"...... I've got a...." I thought quickly. "HIGHWAY TO SELL, duhn, duhn, HIGHWAY TO SELL" I yelled it over the radio. She was singing it right along with me. After the second chorus, she stopped singing and bobbing her head and said. "Why are they selling highways?" It was all I could do to keep the car on the road from laughing. I told her "I don't know, maybe they made a bad investment and they just have to get rid of a highway"

This must have been enough, because she went back to singing and bobbing her head. Now she asks me to play "The AC/DC's" whenever we get into the car.
