A New Town and New School  − 20 October, 1985

While I was born in York, Pennsylvania, I consider East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania my hometown now. Sure, I have a ton of memories from York, but I remember more about my life naturally from 12 years old on.

On this day, My parents and I moved to a house in the Lake Valhalla development, a three and a half hour's drive northeast of York. I began school that week at J.S. Bunnell Junior High School, part of the East Stroudsburg School District.

My first aquaintence, Jeff Labar, was like a white Will Smith in his DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince days. He thought I said that I moved from New York, so he bugged me constantly to visit my old neighborhood with me. No matter how hard I tried to tell him, he never realized I said "York, Pa."

I had a big crush on my spanish teacher too for some reason and she wasn't even that hot. My dad worked with a woman that was spanish named Pilar (Pee-lar) too. She was a hot piece of ass though and she was married to the biggest dork (or at least I thought, for all I know he was a freak). For both reasons I wanted to learn spanish. What can I say, I was 13.

I hated Junior High for the most part, but I remember a few names of people that were really nice to me and I lost touch with throughout high school: Wendy Rode, Corey Predmore, and Sherry Giacobe. I just realized I can't remember any dudes. I guess that's good. :)

Two guys I did actually meet that I got along with right away were Casey Green and Kerry Widdoss. Both were friends all through high school and despite Kerry's half brother Rick hating me, Kerry always stuck up for me, which was awesome. Casey now works in California as an editor of shorts, commercials, and films and I just saw the other day that he was on the crew of "You, Me, and Dupree."

I haven't heard from Kerry in a few years. Actually the last time I saw him was when of my Volleyball buddies happened to be sleeping with his then wife. He introduced us to his "girlfriend" at the bar and I immediately spoke to her (I guess she didn't really think the Poconos was a small town, dumb bitch) and told my friend that it had to end that night. I called Kerry and told him about it and saved my buddies ass. (Kerry's a big guy)

I will always remember both Casey and Kerry and, if either of you ever read this, I will always have your back.
