WEAR THE RAINBOW OR RED TO SHOW YOUR PRIDE ON MAY 17TH!!!!!!!!! It all started when i was doing research for my law 12 project on gays and lesbians and i came across a website for the international day against homophobia. Before now i had never heard of this day, as i believe is the same for many of you. So on May 17th join me and the many people who plan to raise the flag of pride. Wear the rainbow, or a representation of your pride to school or work. This just isnt a day for homosexuals but it is a day of unity. If you want to do more for the cause go to www.homophobiaday.org INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!!!!! The cause for the International Day Against Homophobia, its central topic of interest, the common theme that provides information for each of its endeavours remains a universal, multi-faceted and historical phenomenon: homophobia. In Canada, recognition, for lesbian and gay communities, has been first and foremost a judicial acceptance brought about by the adoption of the Charter of Human Rights. However, judicial advances will remain only that until a complete, unlimited social acceptance of homosexuality is achieved and homophobia wiped out. To achieve this goal, the Fondation Émergence proposed in 2003, along with partners, to hold each year a special day dedicated to the social recognition of homosexual experience. ******THIS EVENT IS AN INTERNATIONAL EVENT SO IGNORE THE FACT THAT IT SAYS VANCOUVER FOR THE CITY/TOWN. I REPEAT THIS IS AN INTERNATION EVENT, MEANING EVERYONE ACROSS THE GLOBAL GETS TO CELEBRATE IT. ALSO IDAHO IS THE SAME EVENT!****** WEAR THE RAINBOW OR RED TO REPRESENT YOUR PRIDE!!!!!!

So we had this wacky idea... What if a thousand zombies raided downtown Chicago? Yeah, that's what we had in mind... Dress-up and make-up as your favorite undead and come to Chicago's first-ever zombie walk! These things have happened all over the U.S. and Canada, but never in our lovely city. We look to change that... The more people the better, so invite your friends too. Invite the people you hang out with and help us break the record of 1,200 zombies! We're working on different ideas and hammering out the details, but if you have suggestions, we really, really encourage you to let us know. Important! Please see the official Facebook group for information on attire, makeup, and proper zombie behavior for ideas. The more zombified you are, the more fun you'll have, and the more amusing our "performance" will be. We strongly encourage you to check it every few days so you can find out what's new and we can all stay on the same page. UPDATE 4/6/08: We are looking to get Red Cross involved. Please let me know if you have any interest in donating blood at the event. Thanks guys! Your response so far has been overwhelming, in a good way. It's great to see people willing to help people. -Jess UPDATE 4/5/08 -- We can't message you guys anymore. Check for updates or else you'll show up to the wrong place at the wrong time and look like a big douchebag. Quick note -- don't get offended if the creator/admins don't accept your friend request. We actually have real living, undead human lives, believe it or not, and just don't want our facebook swamped with strangers. :) -Jess
